Health Minister Amend Zemaj, through a Facebook post, has indicated that when eventually a decision can be made to restart visa equipment services and open the airport.
He has said that Hoti Government in the coming days will begin contacts with diplomats of European states to see the possibility of free movement towards the EU, always respecting recommendations by doctors.
This is the Zemaj announcement:
The following days I as minister and government Hoti under close co-operation will continue friendly contacts with diplomats of states The European Union, to find the way and the opportunity for our citizens to resume free movement towards the EU, always respecting the rules and guidelines against Covid-19 recommended by doctors.
We cannot intervene in the decisions of embassies and governments of friendly states to reopen their borders and resume consular services.
We cannot even become their spokespersons, despite having very friendly relations and excellent co-operation. We thank them very much for their help throughout the years, especially now in the fight against pandemic. Without that help it would be very difficult for Kosovo.
We know that many citizens Kosovo expected to travel to EU states, especially in Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, or for a short time, like a tourist or a business trip.
Every day thousands of citizens ask when EU consulate embassies in Pristina will reopen to be equipped with visas, as in full reopening of airport Pristina, resume regular flight lines to states Shengen. Where we have hundreds of thousands of exiles, for whom we will do all we can to facilitate their journey home, where they will take vacations near their loved ones. Our precious exile is the hope and survival of many families in Kosovo.
In a few days, we will make decisions on opening the airport, always according to doctors' recommendations, relevant authorities and the National Institute. Health Public Kosovo/ I KSHPK.
While, embassies of states EU in Pristina has announced that in case this pandemic situation David-19 changes, then restarting services is expected.
This Monday the European area states will fully reopen land and air borders between them, which had been closed for almost three months because of David-19.
While, we have been informed that unfortunately for citizens from “third states --” including Kosovo, restrictions on entry and travel to Germany and several states The EU will be worth 30.06.2020, which makes the free movement of our citizens into the EU difficult.
After two weeks, on July 1st, state friend Germany will assume the rotating presidency The European Union, and due to the parliamentary support for Kosovo, we expect good news for visa liberalisation.
