Goodbye Elliot Engel: Albanian friend loses election competition, ends politically

Old U.S. Congressman Elliot Engel, looks like I'm going to miss the first seating competition in his district since 1988. He had been one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress, but after multiple scandals he lost to a high school principal named Jamaal Bowman. Yet, even more [...]
However, the result has not yet become official. But, by 1: 00 a.m. local night, his opponent Bowman was leading a deep score of 61-36.
73-year-old Engel served as chairman of the Convention Foreign Affairs Committee. He has received support from Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer of Hillary Clinton, all powerful Democrats but his opponent received the support of progressive Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Saunders and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
The latter has won the competition for Congress in contrast with her colleague Engel.
Engel was strongly associated with Kosovo and Albanians since some 60 thousand Albanians live in New York, writes Periscopi.
He made a shameful scandal a few weeks ago when he was heard on a microphone by a local television saying that “wouldn't do (for protesters against racism) unless he had elections”.
He's also been damaged by the Coronavirus case since his district was hit hard, but Engel wasn't near his electors. /Periscope
