Geroge Floyd's six-year-old daughter's mother is seeking justice for his death.
“I want justice for him because he was good, no matter what anyone thinks of”, Roxie Washington said at a conference in Minneapolis, Kosovo reports.
“He was good and this is a proof that he was good”, she added, pointing to her daughter, Gianna.
According to a post at the Instagram of former NBA player Stephen Jackson, who was a close friend of Floyd, Gianna had said, "My father changed the world..."
Washington said Floyd had moved from Texas to Minneapolis looking for a better life. Even from a distance, she said, Floyd was supportive of their daughter and always said he cared for her.
When Washington first learned of Floyd's death, she told CNN she didn't know how to tell Gianna.
But Gianna soon asked why people on TV were constantly saying her father's name. Then, she wanted to know how Floyd had died.
The only thing I can tell her is that he couldn't breathe”, he told Washington CNN.
She lamented that their daughter lost her father and that she would not have him at the most important moments of her life.
“He will never see it grow, graduate... he will never walk it through square”, Washington said. If there's any problem she has, she doesn't have her father anymore. ”
