The European Union's borders will remain for a time closed to Kosovo citizens for travel that is not necessary.
Even though EU external borders for all Western Balkan countries, such as Kosovo, were expected after July 1st to open, will not happen due to the dramatic deterioration of the epidemiological situation and the enormous increase in the number of cases.
Kosovo currently has the most difficult situation in Europe.
There are large numbers of new cases of infection and that in very small numbers of tests.
In Macedonia and Sweden alone, the number of person infected in the last 14 days has been higher.
And exactly the number of infected in the last two weeks for 100,000 people is the main criterion to place a state on the list of those for which the EU recommends lifting restrictions.
This number should be rough or smaller than the European Union average.
This average on June 15th was 16 cases in 100,000 people, while now has dropped even more in the EU, while much has increased in the Balkan region countries.
At a table prepared by the John Hopkins Institute, Kosovo in the last 14 days has had 47 cases of infection for 100,000 inhabitants.
Macedonia 98, Albania 29, Bosnia and Herzegovina 32, Serbia 20 and Montenegro 19.
For all these countries the number is above the average in Europe, which, according to the same sign, has been 13 cases.
Therefore, the proposal for Serbia and Montenegro to be on the list of countries recommended for lifting restrictions on July 1st seems strange.
Especially since the situation is deteriorating in Serbia, and even many members of the government are infected.
There are diplomats who suspect the accuracy of the data.
Ambassadors of EU member states have discussed those recommendations in Brussels late Friday evening.
In the end, they have approved proposals for which, over the weekend, capitals of member states should be expressed, the Online Economics escorts the Kosovo Clan.
After that, the Croatian presidency will put this proposal in the procedure written Monday, so it can be approved before 1 July, when it should also enter into force.
