The administration has defended its movement with the argument that the book contains classified information that would endanger the national security of the United States.
The indictment came a day after President Donald Trump himself declared that Bolton would violate the law if the book was published in his current state.
This, according to him, Bolton has not completed what is known as “the cleaning process”, which is required every former government official who writes books.
Trump dismissed Bolton last September after 17 months of duty as national security adviser. The book of the former adviser, called “Room where it occurred: A memory from the White House” is expected to go on sale on June 23rd.
Relations between Trump and Bolton, employed by many ovations by the head of state, came after publishing the issue that took the name “Ukraine-gate”, with the president conditioning financial assistance to Ukraine with an investigation into his rival in the upcoming election, Joe Biden.
At the time, Bolton indicated that he did not want to be part of what he called a <x0 drug addict”.
