UNMIK investigators, along with a forensic team, at the request of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) had done a thorough forensic examination at “Verdeco2>, southwest of Burrel in Albania.

In a confidential UNMIK report provided by information tools, named “Examination and forensic evaluation in Albania” and prepared by Tom Grenge and Hroar Fredenlund, second forensic examiner, concludes that there is no convincing evidence that people in that house have been bleeding as a result of criminal acts, as claimed in Dick Marty's report.

“Based on our examinations, we think there is no convincing evidence that people have been bleeding as a result of domestic criminal acts, southwest of Burrel in Albania”, says this confidential UNMIK report.

According to forensic examiners, the Office for Missing Persons and Legal Medicine in Kosovo (ZPZHML) was asked by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to help in forensic examinations in Albania.

This request, according to this report, had come because “according to some witnesses, allegedly people were killed in a house on Burrel's leaving in Albania and they were supposed to be buried in a cemetery in the same area of”.

The next day, February 4th, we drove by car to the current location, approximately 15 kilometers south of Burrel City. Executions were performed by Tom Grenge, Hroar Fredenlund and Alain Whittmann along with Jose - Pablo Baraybar and Tania Delabarde on February 4th, 2004. Also present were 2 security officials from the ICTY, chief prosecutor from Burreli, 4 police officials from Burreli, the ICTY translator, researcher Michael Montgomery, researcher Stephen Smith”, says in this UNMIK report.

During the examination, forensic experts also show that they have used the chemical river to detect possible blood spaces that the human eye cannot see.

Luminol is an extremely sensitive chemical for the discovery of small amounts of blood, and when sprinkled on areas of suspected blood stains, it reacts to the activity of hemoglobin peradoxis (a large part of the blood).

“Luminol causes blood to shine a blue/vjoll, this chemical issuer is directly caused by river oxidization from a water solution. As fuel for river reaction, the enamel type is 3-aminoplat. It is essential that all examinations be conducted in total darkness with the help of a torch to help examine the crime scene. The light caused by the reaction is the largest in 445 nanometers (catter), which is within the visible spectrum”, is explained in this UNMIK report, under which this form of examination is extremely sensitive and it is documented that it reveals blood at the level of millions and still works even when blood traces have been removed by bleach.

The “Family who lived in the examined settlement offered us free access to all rooms and we were able to conduct our examinations without any restrictions”, says the <x2 forensic experts report. Yellow House”

The description of the settlement is said to be a two-story concrete house located approximately 15km southwest of Burrel in Albania.

The outside part of the house was coloured whiter, except for the lower 1.5m, which was the most yellow”, says the report, which later describes the entrances and rooms of this house in detail.

“Secila from the rooms was checked for blood evidence, and negative results were found. Two suspicious brown stains of pink were tested with Fenolftal, with negative results. After examining the entire house, we decided to use the Lumin chemicals to check traces of blood that cannot be seen by human eyes. The nearest areas of the house were checked for evidence. Approximately 50 feet [15 m] from the southern side of the house was a 3m slope leading to the lower river. In this area the articles BUR01011a-007a were found in the waste basket. These items were collected as evidence”, described the detailed examination of forensic experts.

According to them, the use of the river's chemical when it was dark had had a positive reaction near the stove on the floor.
