Chinese prosecutors are accusing two Canadians who were previously arrested by security authorities.
Under these charges, those in question could face life imprisonment, which could exacerbate diplomatic relations between Otawa and Beijing, Reuters writes, broadcast Klan Kosova.
It was about former diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor, who were arrested at the end of 2018, shortly after Canadian police arrested the chief finance officer of the NCHwaweji technology company, Meng Wang, based on an arrest warrant issued by the United States.
Chinese authorities deny that these two detentions are linked to the Meng case. Experts, however, are describing these arrests as attempts to pressure Canada.
