The European Union Council approved the recommendation for the gradual removal of temporary restrictions on travel to the bloc's countries.
However, it becomes known that Albania is not allowed to enter the EU by 1 July.
On the other list, the one in 15 countries that received the green light is neither the US nor Brazil, which has an alarming situation with the pandemic.
Initially, it was reported that in the draft list there were 54 countries that were discussed by EU member states, but eventually reduced to 15 states.
Among them is Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Rwanda, while from the Balkan region, only Serbia and Montenegro have received green light. Diplomats had agreed that the list would be revised every two weeks, depending on developments.
Member states will for every case have the authority to decide which non-EU citizens should be allowed, which means that in certain cases they can restore measures for internal borders, yet Brussels hopes a coordinated approach can help heal the continent.
Earlier this month, the EC itself had indicated that reopening borders with non-EU members in the Western Balkans, including Albania, was a priority from July 1st.
