In addition to the Infectious Clinic, patients with COVID-19 are being treated in the facility of Sports Medicine, the intensive unit, where they are lying down to 5 patients, one of them assembled and four others in CPAP. Patients with COVIED-19 are also in the Pulmology clinic, where 22 cases are being handled with oxygen therapy.
Infectian Salih Ahmeti, until he has told of the state of patients lying at the Infectious Clinic, said the clinic's capacities are overwhelmed.
We now have 111 patients in total, of those 66, with more oxygen therapy and more severe conditions, while the condition of other patients is stable. And in intensive care we have six patients, they're also breathing to help with the CPAP method, but we're making possible efforts to improve their health. And the number is constantly changing because we are going to release five patients today who are cured both clinically and laboratoryally, but we also have enough requests for hospitalization and I believe that they will soon be replaced by new patients”, he said.
Ahmeti said that increasing cases with COVID-19 make it difficult for medical staff to appeal to citizens to wear masks and maintain physical distance.
He said the situation is still manageable, but who said that any increase in the number of cases makes the job difficult, where he did not rule out the possibility of a health collapse.
So far we have a full capacity, with the last energy of the health staff, and we're struggling to manage our professional obligations. ... We're still managing the situation, we've engaged volunteer staff, spare teams, however, I'm telling you. But any increase in the number of cases of this management makes it difficult, and if this number of cases manages to get uncontrolled values then our situation I didn't want it to happen, but there's a possibility that we get into a health collapse”, he said.
In addition to the Infectious Clinic, patients with COVID-19 are being treated in the Pulmology Clinic, where 22 cases lie.
The director of Pulmology Clinic, Rukije Mehmeti, said that out of 22 patients in this clinic 12 are being treated with oxygen therapy and stable conditions.
In the Pulmology clinic, where there are 22 cases that are being handled with oxygen therapy.
There are 22 patients who are proven, while we have 6 of them pending. The situation of 22 patients, 12 of them, is oxygen, but they are in stable condition. We are constantly in contact with the Infectious Clinic so that once the country is released from them, we transfer these cases to the Infective Clinic, but until it becomes the country those patients stay here and receive treatment here”, she said.
So far in our country there are 2799 cases of COVID-19, where 1506 have recovered while 49 people have died. Only last night were 122 cases of COVID-19.
