Some scientists say that a 3 - mile [10 km] wide asteroid that had hit the Earth and created the Chicxulub crater was the main cause. This blow had sent in huge quantities of materials that had blocked the sun, causing a devastating cold period, writes The Guardian, translates Periscope.
Others, however, had said that volcanic activity in India's Deccan region was the main cause, making a series of climate changes.
But scientists now believe that they have put an end to this debate by finding the true cause of killing dinosaur species.
