Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has declared today is not rushing to hold elections in Serbia, adding that they are fair.
According to Serbian media, Vucic has said his opponents accuse him every year of recognising Kosovo's independence, but that no talks are under way either.
As far as Kosovo is concerned, we are not talking to anyone, there is no talks, no idea, nor is there any solution on the table for anything”, he said.
“I will always defend the preservation of peace, but whenever it was necessary to show the strength and sustainability of Serbian politics, I was the one who did it for the Kosovo issue and the survival of our people”, Vuciq added.
He stressed that his political opponents have declared every year since 2012 that Vuciq will recognise Kosovo that year, and that he is used to it.
Otherwise, the Serbian president had announced days earlier that elections in Serbia would be held on 21 June.
