Parliament Speaker Vjosa Osmani, who had warned the conference at 12:00 today but did not keep it, has issued a statement on the media.
Osmani announces he has sent comment to the Constitutional Court with a recommendation “without final prejudice” to suspend the decree for the new prime minister.
She writes:
Today, the Constitutional Court ruled to impose the interim measure on the president's decree for the country's new government mandate until a merit decision.
I highly appreciate the fact that the Constitutional Court has decided to address this issue, though holiday, so that institutional integrity in the circumstances created can be protected.
In effect, I have directed comments today to the Constitutional Court (at the term appointed by the Court), with which I have reasoned why setting the provision is necessary, without prejudging the final decision of the Court on the merit of the case. In these comments I have clarified that the “setting up the provisional measure on execution or taking action stemming from the decree is also necessary because only in this way would the Kosovo Parliament, as the highest institution in our political system, not make decisions that could result in counter-cooperative, which would therefore severely undermine the public's confidence and the very integrity of this institution. In this way, except that it is in full compliance with public interest, the deployment of the move will prevent an irreparable damage in the sense of constitutional and legal functioning of the highest constitutional institutions in the country. ”
As head of the Kosovo Assembly and one who always respects the decisions of independent institutions, I will see that the Parliament takes all steps in line with the Kosovo Constitutional Court's decision and invite all political and institutional leaders to respect the decisions of this court, whether they agree with them or not.
