In this summit apart from discussing economic recovery after the pandemic, it is expected to become clear that the closure of the Kosovo- Serbia can only be achieved by the EU.
Although this summit has been cited as the possibility of visa liberalisation for Kosovo, the likelihood of such a thing connoisseurs of international integrations view as “zero”. That's because the pandemic will take over the summit.
“Institute Director EPIC”, Demush Shasha told Kosovo that good message for Kosovo is the removal of vetoes for participation from Spain.
According to him, it is an important signal of bringing Spain together with EU member states on Kosovo's accession of independence.
The “expects that leaders will make it clear that there is a dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, and that dialogue is shared by the EU”, he said.
In addition, Shasha expressed sceptical of the possibilities for visa liberalisation to occur this year.
No visa liberalisation is discussed in any form, the likelihood of this is zero. This is not a summit theme. The visa liberalisation options beyond the summit, with the passing of each day of 2020 fade each day. So nothing concrete should be expected from the summit for visa liberalisation”, he says.
While the other European integration connoisseur, Besnik Vasol, says this Sam will be in the shadow of the Javi 19 pandemic.
“The summit will be under the shadow of the vivid virus, the situation we are undergoing, specifically, will be discussed in post-Cavid. The economic situation to better manage damage that has already occurred from pandemic. How can the EU contribute to easing the consistencys of the pandemic ... unfortunately the summit will have less effect than expected at the beginning. This is unfortunately also ours, we would be looking here for or being the focus of attention with all the challenges and problems facing us as a country of”, he said.
Kosovo at this virtual summit will represent the president, Hashim Thaci. While all participants of the EU-Western Balkans summit will be included without national symbols, it has become known in Brussels.
