The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in almost all parts of the world, including Kosovo, caused numerous measures to be taken to prevent the spread of this mysterious virus, writes Inseder.

One of the measures the Government of Kosovo, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration, had taken, respectively, was the ban on the circulation of urban and inter-urban transport across Kosovo's territory.

On March 23rd of this year, the Pristina municipality had made a decision to reduce urban traffic circulation in the capital, which is due to the avoidance of coronary spread.

However, just a week later, on March 31, 2020, capital head Shpend Ahmeti had made a decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration for the complete ban on urban traffic circulation.

Ahmeti had criticised that decision for taking place without prior consultation with him.

“As long as we were the main supporters of the retributive measures, and we also supported each central-level decision, this decision was taken without consultation, not even 30 seconds with the Pristina municipality, nor with other municipalities”, Ahmeti wrote on the social Facebook network.

And now, when more than a month and a half of citizens are done, they can still travel on urban traffic buses in Pristina.

This has begun to reduce the number of people infected with coronavirus and the government in office has begun to facilitate the measures, Insander writes.

As of Monday 18 May, the implementation of the second phase will also begin, where urban and interurban traffic circulation begins with special permission at this stage.

The incumbent, Albin Kurti, has made it known during yesterday's day.

“From Monday, hairliggers, dentists and physical therapists will be opened, railway transport, urban transport and inter-urban transport, as well as the opening of galleries and museums. Each citizen will be allowed out twice a day by two hours according to the previous number of IDs. This success in fighting pandemic has come from the courage we had in fighting pandemic”, Kurti said.

Kurti, has stated that as we enter a new phase it is important to keep our distance, hygiene, and not to go to each other, Injsander writes.

Regarding the launch of the “Urban” work in the capital for Insederin has spoken, Lulzim Rexaj, chief of the Pristina Community Public Company “Urban”.

Rexhepaj, has said they are expecting additional clarifications to see if all urban buses will be moved from Monday to the capital.

The “alone is still unclear how they will move, but by Monday this is expected to be clarified. We're making our preparations, the ausbuses are service, they're technically prepared, they're disinfectant and they're waiting in the parking lot. We've also set the announcement at the entrance and at the exit of the bus where travelers must have the mask on and this is the first condition to get on the bus of Urban Traffic, check the distance and sit on the chair that's allowed to sit because we've set signs, so we've made the sign, and with this we've shown which places to sit”, Rexaj told the Insadeer.

Rexhepaj, has also explained the measures taken on the bus so that travelers feel secure.

And we've also put disinfectors on the bus where citizens can wash their hands at the entrance as well as at the exit. We are prepared, now belongs to the central level -- the Pristina Government and Community -- to explain how they will move”, Rexhepaj has declared.

However, it has said that the number of travelers will be smaller compared to previous months before the spread of the coronary.

The number of travelers was only 20 on a bus”, he said.

As of May 18th, the second phase of the measures begins, on June one, in the third phase, the Government has planned to allow urban traffic to flow and infrastructure in general as they circulated earlier.
