The country's first said Kosovo is an independent and sovereign country and that dialogue should continue between the two independent countries.

Kosovo is an independent and sovereign country, recognised by most EU countries dialogue must continue between the two independent countries, these realities cannot change anyone, I am not here to comment on the statements of this or that official, but to represent the vision of Kosovo's political and institutions -- independent and sovereign -- by respecting its territorial integrity”, he said.

The president of state has added that he believes in the US and the EU at this stage of the final agreement, while saying it will result in recognition of the state of Kosovo.

Serbia's “Offices have stressed even earlier that there is no possibility of freedom or independence, if we enjoy them, I continue to believe in the United States in co-ordination with the EU that will result in recognition of state”, he has declared.

Thaci has also been asked about the letter that yesterday became known that incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti has sent the number two to the United States of America, Vice President Mike Pence, mid-April of this year.

He said they are free to write to anyone and that the US recognises reality in Kosovo.

Kosovo's “Institutions and the people of Kosovo have always had confidence in US dedication and role.

Belgrade's statements are not important, as far as unity is concerned. As far as the letters you stressed I'm not reading I haven't had them through my hands it's free to write to anyone what I'm not going to do with these letters, the US knows the reality in Kosovo very well, and everyone else”, the president said.
