Salad reduction in unacceptable public sector, strikes, protests warned

Even though there is still no final decision by the Ministry of Finance and Transfers for lowering salaries in the public sector following the crisis created by the choreography, this is being deemed unacceptable to representatives of civil servants. Kosovo Civil Service Union Chairman Mursel Zymberi told Online Economy that, under no circumstances and for no price, it will allow civil servants' salaries to be reduced.

He says the ministry has been told that this warning is not true.

“We've stated earlier and for this information I've discussed with the political subject that is in government, an answer from the minister in office we've received that this issue is not true, but it's constantly adversarial that there will be such a tendency to reduce the salaries of the civil servants.

Our “position is cut because in no way will we allow civil sector salaries to be affected at the time when we expect the decision by the Constitutional Court to be taken and have salary levels as requested by”, Zymber said.

Zymber called such a proposal unconscious, until he made it clear to the Government that if he tries to do so, the union will respond with strikes and protests.

“at this time to deal with the proposal to cut civil servants' salaries on behalf of budget economy is unfair and irresponsible. We are convinced in our stance, we will in no way allow the Government to touch the salaries of civil servants under any circumstances without any price of”.

If the government doesn't want chaos, let's be careful and don't touch wages because we don't have any other funding sources. The union organisation law allows union action meant for strike and protest. I don't think it's going to come down to that point, but if the government is willing to try and prove it”, he said.
