Germany has received praise for lowering the number of deaths of COVID-19, and has already begun to lift several jams at gatherings, businesses, schools and even football championships.
However, protesters filled the streets for the second weekend in countries such as Stutgart, Munich and Berlin to express a series of disappointments from the restrictions that destroyed the economy in a perceived loss of civil freedom. Some also express conspiracy theories and views against vaccines.
The demonstration in Stutgart exceeded the allowed number of 5,000 people, police said, and they headed to run in another space. Police said they were implementing a mask requirement under threat of a 300-euro fine (325 euros).
Protests come as German authorities report a new explosion to a home for asylum seekers in Sank Augustin, located about 20 miles southeast of Klin.
Meanwhile, Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly proposed a $500 billion regeneration fund for European economies hit by pandemic on Monday.
