Police find massage bars open, arrest 35 people

“Based on intelligence information and open sources, some locals offering massage services, even despite the ban on the exercise of activity at this time of pandemic, were suspected to have carried out their activity illegally, posing a threat to public health and to participating persons”, police reported.

Kosovo police (PK), referring to the decisions of Kosovo institutions, as well as to the preparedness and reaction plan against Coronavirus COVID-19, has in time drafted the operational police order called “UO for preparedness and reaction for Coronavirus COVID-19”
In order to continue implementing the operational command, implementing preventative measures under the decisions of the RKS Government, the Ministry of Health and IKSHP, Kosovo Police last night with 20.05.2020 in three regions of Kosovo (Pristina, Ferizaj and Prizren), have implemented the operating plan “control-20.05.202018x1>.
Based on intelligent information and open sources, some locals offering massage services, even in spite of the ban on the exercise of activity at this time, were suspected to have carried out their activity illegally, posing a threat to public health and to other participants.
Based on competent prosecutors' orders, checks have been carried out in:
Pristina (14) locations have been checked, from them (6), where 23 people have met, to whom necessary legal measures have been taken.
Ferizaj control facilities have been (3) locations but have been closed, while a restaurant has been searched but no doubts have been noted.
Prizren control facilities have been (4) locations, of which (2) have been open, where 12 persons have met, to whom necessary legal measures have been taken.
It is noteworthy that units of various police profiles, including inspectors from the central and local level, have participated in this extensive police operation.
Kosovo police remain committed to taking legal measures against possible illegal acts and fighting all negative phenomena that clash with the failure to comply with the decisions of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, which concern the prevention of spreading pandemic.
