Deputy Chairman Nedmi Rudari has reviewed the security situation in the municipality, information about the emergency situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic, and preventative measures and senbilisation of citizens for the consequences of fire during the period of harvesting and forest burns.
Police Station Commander in Podujevo, Captain Bekim Zogiani, praised the overall security situation as calm and stable.
He has made it known that 56 cases during this period have been recorded to disregard health standards in pandemic times. While currently 32 people on the territory of the Podujevo municipality are at their disposal.
Disturbing during this period, according to Commander Zogiani, are reported cases of theft and domestic violence.
KFOR's representative has praised the security situation in the municipality as calm and stable and highly praised management of the situation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even the KSF representative reported on the commitment of the security force during this period, separately contributing to the transport of citizens who have returned from other countries.
Deputy Chairman Rudari praised the work the KKMF medical team is doing at the Merdar border crossing point, which since the announcement of the pandemic has made over 8,000 audits of persons entering this border point.
He said that in the Podujevo municipality there are currently no people affected by COVID-19, while no cases of infection have been recorded on April 20th.
Health and Social Management Director Zaim Thaci said the municipality has earmarked 362,000 euros for managing the situation created by the pandemic. A total of 2,280 food packages for citizens and more than 2,000 other donors have been provided from the municipality budget.
Public Services, Protection and Rescue Director Faik Muchiqi said 182 forest burning cases, which have included an area of 343 hectares and 104 hectares of grass and hamulor, have been recorded so far.
He said concern remains cases of deliberately caused forest burning, as there were no high temperatures during this period.
Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Director Vezir Januzi said the citizens' sensitivity for preventing this phenomenon and the largest mobilization of all responsible facilities, including the Directorate of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, as well as the Kosovo Foresting Agency.
