Even the country's real estate sector is affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as many other economic sectors.
The construction sector that has been widely sought in the country is expected to have a decrease in the sale of new housing and housing in Kosovo due to the economic crisis and the risk of closing many businesses and jobs.
The chairman of Kosovo's Economic Oda, Berat Rukiqi, says of Kosova Prees, that there are two reasons expected to be a decline in housing, housing and locals, according to which the first because tools from the diaspora will be more limited, because a good portion of the sale has been linked to the diaspora.
The head of OEK, saying this expected decline is a serious blow for the country, states that the next reason for the decline in sales, is that this year there is not expected to be purchases of residences and local businesses, as well as of domestic consumers.
In foreign investment statistics, we see every time that Switzerland, Germany where we have diaspora dominate these investments in real estate. This is the first problem, the second problem is that even the interior consumer has hesitations to invest in services or essential goods. In this case, buying a new home or any new home or businesses buying new space for expansion are not particularly priorities not for this summer”, Rukqi says.
Mayor Rukiqi has said that for there to be no emphasis on this sector, it needs to be seen the possibility through the banking system, but also by stimulating citizens and businesses to keep these investments.
Therefore, citizens do not reduce purchasing power and have a stability in this regard and encourage citizens who need to buy new housing or homes, at the same time businesses can be supported if they have had investment plans not to stop them, but continue. This could be done with a separate window of the recovery Fund or through existing mechanisms guaranteeing loans and providing even more innovative but easier funding for this body”, Rukiqi says.
He further points out that it is not only the construction and estate sector that this affects and connects within itself many other sectors that can have failed.
Kosovo is expected to have an economic decline of minus 4.5 per cent, forecast given by the World Bank. While, according to economic connoisseurs, the damages in the economy caused by the coronary are expected to be over half a billion euros. /I. Shaban/
