German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Germany has so far passed the coronary test, but added that much work is still needed to stem the spread of COVID-19.

We've been through this test pretty well. The majority of citizens in our country have acted carefully, reason and responsibility to others”, Merkel stressed.

The conservative Chancellor declared that she hoped further relief of the coronary restrictions would be possible at the right time, but she is confident that citizens will continue to act responsibly.

Although Germany has had large numbers of coronary cases, the number of victims remains relatively low.

The number of new cases has dropped significantly after the Merkel government applied a series of restrictions in March.
