Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the Saudi government, was killed within the consulate of the kingdom in Istanbul, Turkey, in October 2018.
Saudi officials say his death was the result of a <x0-powered fraud” and was not sanctioned by the state.
But the activity of these events has raised international doubts, including some intelligence agencies and the United Nations.
Khashogg wrote about the Washington Post newspaper and lived in the United States before his death.
What did Khashogg's family say?
The statement was posted on the Twitter account of Salah Khashoggi, one of the boys of the late journalist, on Friday.
On this blessed night of the blessed month [of Ramadan] we remember God's saying: If a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is to Allah”, his tweet says.
Therefore we the sons of witness Jamal Khashoggi announce the forgiveness of those who killed our father, seeking a reward from Almighty God”
Death sentences can be changed if forgiveness by the victim's family under Islamic law is not clear whether this will be implemented in this case. /Kan
