Kosovo Telecom Reagon: We don't have surveillance rooms.

Kosovo's Telekom has reacted after statements concerning the surveillance room.

Through a media communique, Telekom has suggested that there are no wiretapping on their part, nor unauthorized access to their network.

We assure our consumers that there are no wiretappings on the side of Kosovo Telecom, nor unauthorized access to our network.

After non-professional and unsupported statements by senior state officials, who unjustly damage the reputation of Kosovo Telekom sh.a., we feel the need to clarify the opinion as follows:

• Kosovo's telecom, as well as other telecommunication operators in Kosovo, does not possess “surveillance room” with which it is speculated in the opinion.
• The facility where the directorate and our main administration are located is currently not the property of Kosovo Telecom sh.a. but the Kosovo Post.
• Within this building are spaces that Kosovo Telecom does not manage. and one of them is also a space managed by the Chief State Prosecutor.
• This space or “surveillance room”, as it is known across the media, functions under the 05th law. L-030 and a decision by the Chief State Prosecutor. All of this is based on the International Security Standards.
• Such areas exist in all operators in Europe, including operators in Kosovo.
• In this space, which is managed by the Chief State Prosecutor, there has never been an approach in any case by any Kosovo Telecom employee. Without authorization and without the presence of responsibles by the State Attorney.
• The space in question is monitored through cameras managed by the Chief State Prosecutor.
• After verification by competent persons, no sign or suspicious element of non-authorized access or access has been found around the space in question.

Unconfirmed, inaccurate, or irresponsible statements can harm the business and image of Kosovo Telekom sh.a. We are afraid this could be misunderstood as favouring competition or deliberately damaging Kosovo Telecom's reputation.
