On the 21st anniversary of the assassination, LDK chairman Isa Mustafa has commemorated LDK deputy chairman Fehmi Agani, killed by Serb forces during wartime in Kosovo.
Mustafa has said that the killing of Agan was not random because his native and intellectual activities were eye-to-face for the Serb conqueror.
Kosovo's Democratic League today recalls Kosovo's intellectual, visionary and great manship, which cost life to the movement for freedom and independence. People like Fehmi Agan may soon flee, but the deeds left behind remain a guide for generations. As President Rugova said: “Kosovo is proud of Professor Agan, with his work and image”, so do we feel about Fehmi Agan's extraordinary personality. His work is the legacy and incompetitive value of Kosovo and LDK in particular. The intellectual and political path launched by Agan remains our mission to cultivate democratic and state-form values. Glory for life, the great intellectual, Fehmi Agani”, Mustafa said.
Agan was the emblems figure of LDK and close associate of Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova. He was killed on May 6, 1999, by Serb invading forces near Lipjan.
In honour of Professor Agan, his memorial has already been established at the Pristina Faculty of Philology court.
From the 1960s, when it was presented with argumentation of the right of the Republic of Kosovo until its murder, Agan had put all its creativity into the service of design, argument and realisation of that goal.
