Interpol has identified an American diplomat's wife as a wanted person in connection with a deadly accident in England.
Interpol announced that Anne Sacoolas, who is wanted as the author of a summer accident that left a young British man dead and brought frustration between London and Washington.
A Red Warning has been released by Interpol for 42-year-old Anne Sacoolas, wife of a duty intelligence service employee in the American diplomatic mission regarding the death of teenager Harry Dunn as a result of dangerous driving,” reports an ITV channel reporter via Twitter.
Red announcement is a signal to law agencies worldwide to stop and hand over Mrs. Sacoolas, who is extradited to England to face justice. Interpol issues such reports as receiving requests from member states. These reports are not the same as international arrest orders.
In January Britain criticised the US that it was not extraditing Ms. Sacoolas, saying the move resulted in “im of justice”.
State Department says Mrs. Sacoolas enjoys diplomatic immunity.
In October, President Trump invited the victim's parents to the White House and tried without success to persuade them to meet Mrs. Sacoolas. They were no longer informed that she would be at the White House during their visit.
19-year-old Harry Dunn was riding a motorcycle when he was hit and killed by a car. Mrs. Sacoolas is accused of driving the car that hit the teenager. According to some reports, she may have been driving to the right, the wrong side of the road in England.
