The situation created after the show of the COVID-19 pandemic has led Kosovo Tax Administration revenues to mark a decline of 28.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
The current state of income recorded for the January-April 2020 period is 141.9m euros, which is a 26.2% decline if compared to the plan. Meanwhile, if we refer to the same period in 2019 we are less to 28.1%”, the ATK report says.
This is the full announcement:
Kosovo's Tax Administration, despite the state of emergency health in the country, is steadily engaging in the development of its activities in order to realise the first goals. However, the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic is evidently resulting in the decline in revenues under planned projections, as with the government's decision of the Republic of Kosovo, the period for payment of tax and pension contributions has lasted until May 15th 2020, as well as the payment of three-month installments has lasted until June 30th 2020.
The current state of income reported for the January-April 2020 period is 141.9m euros, which it means we have a 26.2% drop if compared to the plan. Meanwhile, if we refer to the same period in 2019 we are less than 28.1%.
It is noteworthy that the ATK had an excellent inflow performance, where for January 01st until March 17, 2020, in relation to the same period in 2019, we had an increase of 11.2 %, as well as of the same period we had exceeded the plan for 3.62%.
Also, ATK from March 12th 2020, following the decision of the Ministry of Finance and Transferences, has helped the Government of the Republic of Kosovo with measures to prevent the virus from being prevented by citizens and conducting inspections of businesses, which have misused the situation created by the virus from increasing prices of basic food and health articles. Therefore, in order to implement this decision precisely, ATK has reduced regular activities under the 2020 Work Plan to minimune.
A host of other activities in operation have also been held in support of government measures, which have been undertaken in order to combat and prevent COVID 19.
The ATK wishes that as soon as this situation is overcome and all of the country's businesses will return to the normality of work, as only in this way will we have stable economies.
