The 55-year-old woman during the campaign had promised ecological stability and reconstruction of the local economy. She said she is not an activist and wants to focus on municipal policies.
“People have not chosen me why I am or am not transgiar, they have chosen a program. This is interesting: when things become normal, you don't isolate yourself”, she said.
Residents of this municipality of about 600 people, which extends close to the border with Belgium, voted in local elections in March.
They chose all municipal advisers from the “party to put Together”, including Cau. The advisers later voted almost unanimously to elect that mayor.
