The European Association of Automotive Producers confirmed that around 270,000 new vehicles were registered last month, compared to 1.14 million in April 2019. “The first full month of restrictions due to the coronary pandemic has resulted in the largest monthly drop in demand since the start of the” records, its leaders said.
In March, sales marked a 55.1 per cent decline compared to the same period last year. But as weeks go by, this phenomenon has become even more pronounced. In Italy and Spain, the two countries that have taken some of the strictest measures for controlling the Coronavirus - sales have dropped to almost zero. /tch
