Demhaya: Vetevendosje is protesting in front of institutions leading by itself

The protest, organised today by the Vetevendosje Movement prior to the Constitutional Court's decision, is being assessed as an unprecedented decision and towards institutions that are headed by this party itself. Also, this protest is seen as a tendency to pressure on the Constitutional Court's decision regarding President Thaci's mandate. That's how the economy [...] has estimated it.
Also, this protest is seen as a tendency to pressure on the Constitutional Court's decision regarding President Thaci's mandate.
So has the Online Economy Director of the Organization “Arise”, Arton Demhasaj.
Demhaja said this pressure is being put on to issue the Constitutional Court's decision in favour of the Vetevendosje Movement.
This protest, above all, also tends to put pressure on the Constitutional Court, as the Constitutional Court's decision is still under way, in a way pressure is being made that the decision was in favour of the VV's request. Because we still don't have any decisions, so that's how it's shown”, Demhaja said.
He says this protest would make sense if we had a Constitutional Court decision that would be contrary to what the VV has asked for.
But if we had a Constitutional Court decision which would have been contrary to what the VV asked for then it probably made sense. But even in this regard I do not see it reasonable because the Constitutional Court is designated as the only mechanism that interprets constitutional norms and its decisions are applicable and binding to be implemented by all institutions”, Demhaja said.
Furthermore, the connoisseur of political issues argued that this protest against the Constitutional Court's decisions is a slide of democracy.
He also spoke of the prime minister's statement in office, Albin Kurti, that he does not have time to take part in the protest, as he said it is meaningless, while his party is protesting before institutions led by the VV itself.
Among other things, Demhasa called the decision unprecedented, where such cases do not occur in Europe.
“If we have parties or institutions that go out and protest the Constitutional Court decisions and give signals that they are not accepting these decisions this could be a slide of democracy in Kosovo what we have so far”, he said.
According to him, the party, which is in power, has no sense in protesting before the institutions that lead them.
This protest is being reportedly being organised by Kurti's party, which is leading Government, then it's meaningless. His party is organising, while he says he does not have time to protest. The party, which is in power, makes no sense to protest in front of institutions which are headed by the party itself. It's unprecedented and we haven't seen such cases in Western European countries”, Demhasaj said.
