Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has reacted after the incumbent Government of the Republic of Kosovo has imposed new measures of gradual implementation of reciprocity against Serbia. He has called this decision unacceptable, until he added that Serbia will not continue dialogue until these measures are abolished.
Daciq said that the ban on access of goods from Serbia without documents who wrote the destination “Republic of Kosovo” is worse than the 100 per cent tax on Serbian goods.
This is a reciprocity measure, which probably neither the citizens of Serbia nor the international community recognised as even worse than the tax, which doubled the price of goods, but was at least passed. This government in Pristina made a decision to apply reciprocity measures, which from some countries were hailed as a step forward. We immediately said this is unacceptable”, Dacic said, until he added that with the acceptance of these measures, Serbia would recognise Kosovo.
“We do not intend to continue the dialogue until taxes and reciprocity are removed. This is unacceptable to us and denial of all agreements. We rightly expect an international community response. Richard Greene reacted to this even earlier and said that the reciprocity application is the bypassing of tax removal”, he stressed.
According to him, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is now in “respirator”.
The “Dialogue is in the phase when it is not available, and in this situation various international factors tried to give artificial breath to dialogue, Merkel, Macron. The American administration approach is different from the approach of Biden and Hillary Clinton”, the Serbian Foreign Minister said.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government in office on Saturday has made a decision to change and complete the decision on gradual implementation of reciprocity, as a principle in relations with Serbia.
The decision says that in trade relations with Serbia, documents are prohibited for agricultural and industrial products that use names of countries containing other elements contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the names of countries in the Republic of Kosovo, but without the appointment of the state, which do not refer to the Republic of Kosovo and contain any element that denies the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.
