In the Regional Water Company alone, Pristina (Pristina) from which eight Kosovo municipalities, including the capital Pristina, have been granted debts from consumers worth over 1m euros in just two months.
Sokol Xhafa, task manager of the company's executive chief, told Radio Free Europe that in March and April there has been a major decline in the capture.
According to him, from a 90 percent rate of the census, a 50 - percent drop, adds Xhafa is disturbing.
If we speak at 1.2m euros' worth of monetary value, which has been billed in March, there are about 690 thousand and there are no record more than 510 thousand euros in water bills, while in April of over 1m euros that have been billed, only 520 thousand euros must have been paid”, Xhafa says, adding that this is the lowest value of incasification that has been recorded in recent years.
The average payment of a water bill for a family ranges from 10 to 12 euros.
Debts within two months, although consumers have received services, have also been created in the Regional Waste Company “Cleaning”, which performs services in Pristina and six other Kosovo municipalities.
During the months of coronary pandemic this company consumers have failed to pay bills totalling 1.2m euros.
Arbor Ademi spokeswoman at the company says of Radio Free Europe that 95 percent of consumers have not paid.
If we talk about numbers in the last three months, the company ? Cleaning has been damaged for over 1m euros by the drop insurrection that is of great value. Therefore, we call on citizens to fulfill their commitments so that we can be easier to function and perform services at this time pandemic”, Ademi says.
The monthly bill for services this company offers is about 5 euros.
Until many citizens pay their water and waste bills, energy bills don't go unpaid.
Electricity Supply Distribution spokesperson Viktor Buzhala tells Radio Free Europe that at the beginning of the coronary pandemic, citizens have not made payments, but that the situation is now much better.
“We have about 600 thousand consumers, one of them may even be delayed in paying them, but the situation is generally normal based on the circumstances we have with our pandemic”, Buzhala says.
The reasons for not paying, company officials, are estimated to have been made because of restricting mobile hours, since in most cases these payments are paid in company offices, but in some cases it may also be made online.
Also, representatives of these companies say there may have been cases that these bills may not have been paid because of the situation created by the pandemic, where many citizens may have been out of work and no monthly income, which they say about such cases have consensus.
The default on utility bills that citizens receive from these companies puts their operation at risk.
Sokol Xhafa, task manager of chief executive officer at the Regional Water Company Pristina, says citizens' obligations to the company should do, or after the end of the pandemic will take action against debtors.
It's not like we're executing an off-limit because of the default. As the pandemic ends and the situation turns normal, we're going to call on consumers to pay and if they don't respond, then it's going to be the cracks or they're going to start procedures through the enders”, Xhafa says.
Municipal services companies in Kosovo have consistently faced problems in accessing vehicles from citizens. Debts in these companies are large even before the situation created by the pandemic COVID-19.
