Coronavirus pushes even 86 million children into poverty

The study shows that without immediate actions to protect families from financial difficulties caused by pandemic, the total number of children living under extreme poverty in low and middle income may reach 662 million by the end of the year.
About 2 out of 3 of these children live in sub - Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Latin America and the Caribbean can see an increase of 22%.
Coronervirus' pandemic has caused an unprecedented socioeconomic crisis that is posing resources for households worldwide”, said Henrietta Fore, General Director of U. General NICEF.
“Without co-ordinated actions, poor families can face survival levels that have not been seen in decades”, she added.
