Professor Maxim Cikuli made his special contribution as a physician and professor of genetics.
He is the foundation of the sole national genetics service in Albania, while as a politician he served in important positions in the governments of the Democratic Party.
Born in Korca in 1952, prof. Cikuli served as minister of Health and Environmental Protection.
He has been part of the DP's leading forums since 1994, as a member of the DP leadership, a member of the National Council, and twice the MP in the 1996 and 2001 legislature.
Prof. Maksim Cikuli is known as the respected representative of Tirana's civic and intellectual elite, a moderate voice who worked honestly and defended the principles of the free man.
