Trump's assistant warned early millions of US deaths

Peter Navarro, the trade adviser to President Donald Trump, warned in two recently published memorandums, during January and February of the serious consequences of the dead economics of the United States. In January, Mr. Navarro predicted that as many as 543 thousand Americans could die from the virus that had erupted in China. A month later, he suggested that the Coronavirus could kill from 1 million to 2 million Americans.
In his January memorandum, Mr. Navarro writes that the <x0mmmic protection package, or a cure and vaccine, would leave Americans vulnerable in the case of a full explosion of coronary in American territory. The lack of these defenses increases the risk of Coronavirus becoming a complete pandemic, risking the lives of millions of Americans”.
Mr. Navarro's memorandums were published on Tuesday by the “The New York Times” and the website Axios. They are among the latest indicators, that some of the White House aides had signaled President Trump to their concerns, long before he was publicly expressed.
In the January memorandum, Navarro wrote that the Trump administration should decide how aggressively it must respond to the threat posed by the coronary. He said the number of people killed by the virus and economic damage would be relatively small if the Coronavirus turned out to be more like the seasonal flu.
But he said that “the risk of a worst case pandemic scenario should not be overlooked” after deaths rose in China.
On January 30th, a day after Navarro's first memorandum, President Trump said: “We think we have it very well under control. We have very little trouble in this country at this moment five and those people are successfully recovering. But we're working very closely with China and other countries, and we think there's going to be a very good outcome for us... so I assure you “.
President Trump blocked flights from China at the end of January, but a White House adviser at the time rejected Navarro's warning.
His January “Memorandum seemed to me as an alarming attempt to draw attention to Peter's anti-Kita agenda while presenting an artificially limited range of policy options,” said the adviser.
In the February memorandum, Navarro said: “every member of Task Force should be careful to allocate funds for a crisis that could cause trillion dollars to economic harm and take millions of lives...”
President Trump on Twitter
Following initial minor efforts aimed at dealing with the effects of the virus, President Trump two weeks ago signed a $2 trillion rescue package aimed at helping troubled businesses close doors and more than 10 million laid-off employees who lost their country in the economy hit by the Coronavirus.
Moreover, the measure requires $1,200 in payment for about 90% of senior-aged Americans in the coming weeks.
On March 17th, President Trump said: “I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic”.
But earlier, the American leader minimized any serious concerns.
In a February 24th commentary on Twitter, President Trump said the Coronavirus was “very much under control” and that the stock market but “starts to look very good for me”. Stock incidents have been severely damaged in the past month, with stock prices dropped significantly by the high level they were in the month of February.
Two days later, he said, “and again, when you have 15 people [with coronary], and within two days he'll sit in the vicinity of zero, that's a pretty good job we've done. ”
On February 27th, he said: “will disappear. One day, as a miracle, it's going to disappear”.
Deaths in the United States
Now the United States has recorded more than 12,000 deaths from the virus, with more than 383,000 confirmed cases.
American officials say a number of deaths in the United States from 100,000 to 240,000 is possible, although the leader of the doctor's order, Jerome Adams, said on Tuesday he thinks the final figure will not reach 100,000.
This is absolutely my expectations, and I still feel a lot more optimistic, because I see the relief work,” said Adams in “Good Morning America” of ABC.
The “will be a difficult and tough week, but the American people have the power to change the trajectory of this epidemic if we join as we have done after the tragedies in this country”, he said.
Mr. Adams said Americans should continue to stay home until April and not gather in large groups. / VOA/
