A four - year - old female tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York proved positive for the Coronobrus.
Tiger, called Nadia, is believed to be the first known case of an animal infected by a man with COVID-19.
The zoo says the test results were confirmed by the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ayana.
Nadia, along with six other large cats, is thought to have been infected by a zoo worker.
Cats began showing symptoms, including a dry cough, late last month following exposure to employees, which has not been identified.
