The director of the Department of Microbiology, Jevvat Jakupi, relates what a day's work is like in the laboratory where cases of coronary testing are tested. He says the working time in this lab is between 8:00 and 8:00.
The single laboratory, which conducts coronary tests in Kosovo, works even longer depending on the situation.
Microbiologist says that seven professionals work in the laboratory of molecular microbiology.
He says that they currently have enough equipment after borrowing similar devices from other institutions.
The “The device at the moment is sufficient but depends on the number of samples that will come next days”.
Jakupi says people's tests are not being done without symptoms, as he says the virus needs several days to show results.
He says that the immediate appearance of people who have had contact with patients affected with the virus may not indicate the result and thus not have been given accurate results.
Microbiologist has also talked about the number of tests being conducted in Kosovo. He says such a procedure is quite expensive and depends on how much money the state will allocate to buy more tests.
A test costs 30-35 euros. If there are thousands of cases, it will take much more funds than they've already shared”, he says about RTV Dukagjin.
Jakupi, however, says Kosovo stands well in this testing figure compared to Southeast European countries and according to him.
A total of 604 suspicious samples in the COVIID-19 virus have been tested so far, and of them, a total of thirty-five (35) cases have resulted positive.
