U.S. Senate does not approve additional funds to help troubled businesses from Coronavirus

Republicans had hoped to approve an additional 250 billion dollars for the programme, which was created as part of a massive $2.2 trillion aid package signed by President Trump last month.
Senate leader Mitch McConnell tried to approve the move with unanimous consent, which does not require the presence of a majority of senators, most of whom have returned home. He urged the Democrats to support the move.
But the Democrats accused the Republicans of trying to extend funds for hospitals, state and local governments without consulting them.
In the U.S. over the last three weeks, 16.8 million people have been declared unemployed.
To date, 16,697 victims from Coved-19 have been recorded in the country and 468,895 people have been infected.
