Ramosaj urges the withdrawal of Minister Vitita's decision: State announced

Following last night's decision by incumbent Health Minister Arben Vitita for more rigorous measures in terms of restrictions on movement, citizens of the Decani municipality have caused chaos in the city. Banks, markets, and economic operators are packed, which is why the mayor of this municipality calls on the Government of Kosovo to withdraw the decision, and declare a state of emergency by Kosovo Assembly deputies.

Among other things, Bashkim Ramosaj in an interview for Kosovo Press says municipal mayors have not consulted these decisions from the central level.

So far Ramosaj says 26 tests have been made where he is suspected of the COVID-19 virus, but has not yet resulted in any positive case.

However, he expresses concern that after Pristina's quarantine, many citizens have returned to Decani and that there will be opportunities to spread this virus.

So far in Decan there is no case of coronary, but there is no suspected case. Furthermore, in the last two days our concern is enormous because of the two-quarters of our field tests, beginning yesterday, many citizens who have lived in Pristina and now are known to have been affected as a city with the Corona virus, have returned to Decani. We've made an evidence that we've been looking for to refrain from and isolate themselves in some way”, he said.

After increasing the number of corruption cases, Ramosaj shows that during yesterday he made several decisions with the aim of preventing the spread of infection. Among other things, it stresses that locals who will not respect the measures will be closed.

And we've made a decision yesterday that asked us to stop fast mail, or online from other cities that come to Decani, and at the same time we've asked construction teams not to come from other municipalities in Decani, because there might be consequences to the distribution of the Corona virus. At the same time, we have made a decision that we have sent today to all economic companies and operators that are allowed to work at this time to be careful with additional measures and safeguards, even counting on keeping distance. We will close the premises, which do not respect these” measures, Ramos said.

Bashkim Ramosaj shows that they have not been consulted by the Ministry of Health for additional measures to take effect by tomorrow. For that, he says that chaos was caused in Decani today.

Last night's “Minister Vitita's decision with additional and highly rigorous measures has caused a real chaos in the Decani Community today, but I believe in the whole Republic of Kosovo as well. Where people in the huge stream have turned to the markets for supplies, and they have also addressed banks for the opening of accounts, because of an ongoing relationship, that if the government every citizen will send 130 euros in personal cash at this time. Looks like a misunderstanding. All of Kosovo's businesses in the huge influx have arrived at the municipal administration, where they seek permission for circulation within the territory of the Decani municipality”, he declares.

Among other things, Ramosj requires that the central level change the measure and declare the state of emergency.

The “communs are the first door citizens face, and we as municipal officials face citizens' demands and needs. I don't want to see my municipality in the situation I'm seeing today. So far, we've acted straight and respected the measures. And from today I am powerless to take any action to give police orders to arrest my citizens or to take any other action. And my request for Minister Vitita and the government is that as soon as it publishes the revote of this decision, and is required by the Kosovo Parliament to declare the state of emergency”, Ramosaj said.

According to him, the QKMFs are well equipped with health materials in the municipality he leads, however, says supplies have been difficult. On the other hand, it requires citizens to stay home, in «, so that the flow of people affected by coronarys does not increase.

Acting Health Minister Arben Vitita has announced last night since April 15th, citizens will be able to leave their homes only once a day, and only an hour and a half to carry out supplies of essential food items or other financial obligations.
