Kosovo's great friend, Eliot Engel, had initiated a resolution last year at the US Congress, which contains many measures for advancing relations between the US and Taiwan, among other things protecting Taiwan's recognition from other countries.
This resolution came at the time of an aggressive diplomatic campaign by China against Taiwan's independence.
With this resolution, the US is aimed at halting this campaign and increasing the number of recognitions for Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Artan Behram- think tank of the president of Kosovo through his Twitter profile has asked Engel to initiate a similar resolution on Kosovo.
“Historically, Eliot Engel has been a great supporter of Kosovo. Now is the time for a bipartisan move calling for further recognition of Kosovo, mutual recognition with Serbia and for strengthening relations with the United States. The US already has experience in adopting such laws in other cases. It would be a great message”, he wrote.
Kosovo's great friend, Eliot Engel, has been very active these days, especially with criticism of US President Donald Trump's administration.
It seems that Behram's post comes in response to these criticisms.
