Authorities in Montenegro have arrested a medical worker accused of publishing a list of names of persons infected with the new choreography.
Prosecutors said that the detention measures of up to 72 hours were scheduled against the accused, pending further investigation of the case.
The suspect M.R. is part of the Information Technology Department at the Health Centre in the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica.
He was arrested on April 7th under suspicion of gathering and unauthorized use of personal information.
He is accused of sharing data to patients COVID-19 with other persons who are not authorised to handle information.
A list of at least 60 names of people infected by the virus, along with their identity numbers and birth year, has been distributed on social networks since April 3rd.
The government ordered an investigation, saying that publishing the names of infected patients “violates basic human rights”.
Civil society organisations and opposition parties have also condemned publishing the list.
In Montenegro, there are 248 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, two of whom have died. / REL
