After Andorra, Luxembourg becomes the second European state to announce testing all citizens in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Tests will be voluntary, and those living across the border in Germany, France and Belgium will be able to test and come to work in Luxembourg.
About 8,500 students and teachers will be tested before schools open on May 4th.
At least 20,000 tests can be done every day, Luxembourg authorities said, the country of about 600 thousand people.
“We aim to test the entire population, sometimes and more,” the authorities noted, adding that tests can take place in a relatively short time given that it is a small country.
According to current measures, residents can go to doctors, to work, and to stores only.
Luxembourg has 3,729 infected and 88 deaths. Yesterday, another small European state, Andorra, announced plans to test all 77 thousand of its inhabitants, Kosovo broadcasts.
