The company “Inovio Pharmaclessics” announced it has received approval of the Food and Drug Administration to conduct the study with 40 sound volunteers in Philadelphia and Kansas.
This study is financially supported by the American billionaire Bill Gates' foundation, and it presents the first step to see if the vaccine is safe to proceed with greater tests. Even if the test produces good results, it will take more than a year for vaccines to market.
Last month the first human test of another vaccine began. This test started in Seattle and the process was conducted by the National Institute of Health and the company “Moderna Inc”, writes “Daily Mail”.
Several other groups of researchers are making an effort to discover a vaccine against coronary through the use of various methods in the hope that at least one of them will offer protection.
The method being used by the company <x0Inovio” is what is known as the DNA vaccine, produced by a part of the virus's genetic code, inserted into part of synthetic DNA.
Each volunteer will receive two doses of this experimental vaccine with a four-week period of time.
