Germany postpones social distance measures until April 19th

German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced today that the federal government and Germany's sixteen states have agreed to extend the country's social distance measures until April 19th to curb the spread of the coronary.
“We assessed the situation today and confirmed that restrictions ... will be valid until April 19,”, Merkel said in a live audio transmission from quarantine to her home, CNN reports, broadcast news.
This date is after the Easter holidays. Merkel explained that “pandemia does not recognise holiday and that “citizens are required to keep in touch with people across their home at the absolute minimum, even during the Easter holidays, in accordance with the rules in force”.
The German Chancellor also warned there would be serious consequences in the event of the departure of the measures. She said her government would reassess the situation Tuesday after Easter
