Germany's Health Minister Jens Spahn stated that his country is ready to return “gradually to normality” after Easter, if the current restrictions measures are respected during the holidays.
The number of newly reported infections is decreasing. We are seeing again a linear increase than the dynamic, exponential growth we have seen in mid-March, “said at a news conference in Berlin.
He called on German citizens to be vigilant and disciplined, stressing that Easter holidays would determine whether Germany is able to begin gradually establishing anticontour measures after the holidays.
We want to return to normality gradually but we are still far from a daily life as we knew before the coronary. Not everything will come back as it was. We will continue to live in and out of existence in Germany,” he said.
Spahn added that weeks and months would pass before festivales and nightclubs could open so that chronic patients or elderly citizens could be protected from COVID-19.
