The GAP Institute has implemented a study about the non-compliance between the educational field and the profession in Kosovo, where 54% of respondents face differences between the educational field and the profession, where 61% are men and 39% are women.
GAP reports that three university areas out of which graduates mostly have differences are 8.8% general programmes, 76% exact sciences and 78% agriculture and veterinarians.
In contrast, areas with the least incompatibility are education by 13% and health and well-being by 17%.
“On the other side of industries where workers have the most inconsistencies are the agriculture, forest and fishing industry (62%), the construction (3%), the majority and retail trade and auto repair and motorcycles (77%), and other services (69%), while with at least inconsistencies, education (9%)” is said in the GAP public report.
What causes this disagreement, the report shows that gender is a major determinist, where if the individual is a woman, she will be on average less inconsistent than a man.
But that is not true of women who have pursued educational fields such as justice and engineering, or work in industries such as agriculture, production, and trade, where incompatibility is greater.
The various gender variations in the selected educational fields and industries may also be the result of stereotypes observed in other countries, where men differ from women in the most productive industries of the economy, and that men and women follow historicly dominated educational fields by men in engineering, and women in education and health” are said to be published further by the GAP.
