The removal of insulating measures against the spread of coronary very early, could cause a deadly “conversion to infections, the head of the World Health Organisation has warned.
Dr. Tadros Adhanom Ghebrerses said countries should be careful in terms of easing restrictions, even though some struggle with economic impact. He said there was a welcome “gradualisation of the epidemics in several European countries.
But there is a “alarming acceleration” in other countries including Africa.
Globally, there are 1.6 million cases of coronary and 97,000 deaths.
Dr. Tedros said WHO was working with the countries to form strategies for easing restrictions.
I know some countries are already planning to move out of their home restrictions. WHO wants to see the restrictions lifted as much as anyone. At the same time, lifting restrictions too soon could lead to a deadly revival”, he said during a virtual conference in Geneva.
