As reported in the official stance, the US has been clear that Kosovo should remove the tax without imposing new barriers because, according to it, such policies hurt the people of Kosovo, Express reports.
For the United States, reciprocity measures create more problems, at a time when it is trying to create conditions for successful dialogue after reaching three agreements, those for the airline, railway and highway.
The United States was clear that Kosovo should lift all tariffs and not create new barriers because these policies hurt Kosovo's people and stifle Kosovo's own economy. Richard Green has repeatedly demanded that the 100-man tax be removed without additional measures. On the day when Albin Kurti had made public his decision to remove the tax and replace it with reciprocity, Yerell had said Kosovo's prime minister is making a serious mistake.
Disagreement over the tax issue has been one of the reasons why the LDK has toppled Kurti in the Parliament with the no-confidence motion supported by 82 Parliament deputies.
