The decision was made public by Albanian Education Minister Besa Sahini.
The “Schools for seniors will open from May 18th to June 5th for state seniors. Learning from home will come from the first class until the end of May 11th. The opening for seniors will be implemented by implementing social distance rules. The reason why we don't open it all is about the large number of students we have in many schools. Because of the earthquake, one part has been damaged, and one part has passed by in two shifts. That's why we decided to open schools only for seniors”, Sahin said.
The Education Minister announced that the school year will be closed in June 2020, state-run senior exams will be held between 8-18 June 2020 and grade 5 and 9 exams will be cancelled.
This gives us enough time to prepare diplomas for seniors who want to study abroad. Tests of the 5th and 9th grade will be canceled. The 9th class does not carry the same weight as the seniors and cannot provide the conditions for returning students to school. The 1-11 class by the end of May and online learning for them will be closed 2 weeks earlier”, she followed.
Sahin stressed at this time the teaching process for seniors will develop at 1.5m between them and the number of students in a class of no more than 15 people. / TCH/
