Over 60 thousand workers apply for pay compensation

Over 60 thousand employees of various private companies in Kosovo have submitted demands for pay compensation to the Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK) in order to benefit from the Kosovo Government's fiscal emergency package. Ilir Murtezaj, general director of ATK, told Radio Free Europe, that since April 11th, when the application to the electronic system began for profit from the fiscal package, up until now, in ATK demand for compensation and subscientisation of the rent has presented a total of 13,547 businesses.
The Kosovo government on March 13th has decided to shut down businesses due to curbing the spread of COVID-19 disease, which causes the new choreography.
But to help businesses and other categories of society, the Government of Kosovo, with the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Transfers, has approved the 179.6m-euro Fiscal Emergency Pack, which must be implemented by the ATK.
Of this value, 61m euros have been earmarked for wages and workers worth 170 euros, respectively, for the next two months, who have lost their jobs due to pandemic, subsidisation of rent for 50 percent and pension contributions
