Chinese authorities will remove the closure in the town of Wwan, where coronavirus originated on April 8th, media reported on Tuesday.
According to the Xinhua news agency, local health authorities in Hübeja, which includes the town of Wuhan, have declared a series of new rules concerning easing the restrictions of moving to the area, Telegrafi notes.
Authorities had placed “under control” the city of 11 million people on January 23rd in order to curb the spread of COVID-19, which killed nearly 3,300 people and infected over 81,000 others in China.
Such a decision comes as the city did not report new domestic infections in the past five days. However, a new positive case was reported in town on Tuesday.
After the show in Wuhan, China last December, coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, has spread to at least 168 countries and regions, according to data compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
There are 381,499 confirmed cases worldwide, and the death toll reaches 16,500, while over 21,000 people have recovered.
